In 2005 I went to massage school looking for a foundation for my interest in healing. I graduated from The Body Therapy Institute with 600 hours of massage training. After practicing for about five years, I felt something was missing in what I was providing my clients.

That’s when I discovered the science side of massage therapy in the form of Myofascial Release, Orthopedic Massage, and Medical Massage. Once I started taking workshops, I fell in love with the structural and clinical side of massage.

Here was a way I could help my clients find lasting relief and facilitate change in their bodies. I also found that I enjoyed and excelled at the problem-solving aspect of this type of therapy.

I’ve also discovered the power of adding postural correction and ergonomics to a massage program designed to rebalance the body. To that end, I created my signature Rapid Results, Lasting Relief 12 week program to help you refind effortless, fearless movement.

If you are experiencing pain or discomfort and you don’t want to “learn to live with it,” I look forward to seeing you and working to find and resolve the root cause of your pain and get you back in control of your life and get active again without second-guessing if you should.

When I received my very first professional massage, I was hooked. I experienced immediate relief from pain, and the benefits remained after the session. I felt better than I had in years. I decided then that I wanted to become a massage therapist. I set out to help others, as I was helped, by restoring to them a better quality of life. It took me a few years to realize my dream. I moved to Greensboro, NC, in January of 2014. I enrolled in The Kneaded Energy School of Massage in March.

After graduation, I became a massage therap[ist in Kneaded Energy’s professional practice. Every day brought a smile to my face and happiness to my heart, but something was missing. While I enjoyed giving relaxation massages and helping other clients with their specific body dysfunction, I hadn’t found my massage specialty. I tried many different modalities to determine what felt right to me.

In 2019 I moved to Virginia and worked for another spa. When the COVID lockdown was in place, I pursued a medical massage certification and loved it. Here was my missing piece; I had found my specialty. I thought I needed to seek employment in a medical facility after my training was complete. I began work at a chiropractic office, and I put my new knowledge to good use and began helping clients experience less pain and enhance their quality of life. However, I needed more. The chiropractor didn’t offer much guidance, and I realized I needed a mentor.

Body Balance Therapeutic Massage is the perfect environment for me. Carrie cares about helping her clients overcome their body imbalances and works hard to ensure that she and her employees stay on top of the massage therapy research and follow evidence-informed practices.

I am excited to work here, and I look forward to helping you have a better quality of life through massage therapy.
